The past few weeks have been unlike anything most of us living and working in Dubai have experienced before. Regional tensions, flight disruptions, wall-to-wall international news coverage, and a flood of messages from friends and family abroad asking the same question: “Is Dubai safe? Are you okay?”
The honest answer? Yes. Dubai is safe. Life here continues. And if you’ve been watching the news from the outside, the reality on the ground may surprise you.
This post is for the residents who never left, the business owners holding the line, the tourists planning their next visit, and anyone who wants to understand how one of the world’s most remarkable governments is protecting its people, its economy, and its spirit — even in difficult times.
What Actually Happened — And What Didn’t
Regional conflict is never something to minimise. The tensions that escalated in early 2026 had real consequences: thousands of international flights were cancelled, some airlines temporarily suspended Gulf routes, and hotel occupancy dipped. Businesses felt the pressure. Travellers grew cautious. That is all true.
But here is also what is true: Dubai’s streets stayed open. Its restaurants kept serving. Its Marina kept moving. Residents went to work. Families went to the beach. And out on the water — where the Arabian Gulf remained as beautiful and calm as ever.
Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said it simply and directly: “Dubai is safe and stable. Daily life continues, with public services, infrastructure and tourism facilities fully operational.”
That is not spin. That is what residents here have lived every day.
How the UAE Government Stepped Up — Fast
What set the UAE apart during this period was not just its stability, but the speed and scale of its response. While other economies wavered, the UAE moved decisively.
The AED 1 Billion Economic Support Package
In late March 2026, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, approved a sweeping AED 1 billion economic stimulus package — one of the most significant short-term economic interventions in the emirate’s recent history.
The package, running from April to September 2026, includes:
- Full deferral of Tourism Dirham and hotel sales fees for three months — giving hospitality and tourism businesses immediate breathing room
- Extended customs data grace periods from 30 to 90 days
- Streamlined residency permit processing — sending a clear signal that Dubai remains open to global talent
- Subsidised working-capital loans through state-backed banks for businesses that need liquidity support
- Accelerated e-visa processing for group travellers as aviation connectivity recovers
Dr Nasser Saidi, a former IMF regional advisor, described the package as “a strong message and signal of public support for the Dubai economy” — not a rescue measure, but a confidence-building tool designed to keep momentum strong.
The message from policymakers was unambiguous. UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri put it plainly: “The UAE is strong. A 40-day conflict will not determine the future of the UAE economy.”
A Second Tourism Package Is Coming
Beyond the billion-dirham stimulus, the UAE government announced it is preparing a dedicated tourism sector support package — with daily engagement between ministers and industry operators. The focus is on three areas: extending fee deferrals if aviation connectivity remains below normal, faster e-visa turnaround for organised groups, and price stability monitoring to ensure visitors are not hit with inflated costs.
Tourism is not a side project for the UAE — it accounted for 12% of national GDP in 2025 and directly supports over 745,000 jobs. The government’s response reflects exactly how seriously it takes protecting this sector.

Dubai’s Economy: The Numbers Tell the Real Story
Even amid external turbulence, Dubai’s economic fundamentals are extraordinary. The emirate recorded 6.4% GDP growth in Q4 2025, and its full-year GDP crossed AED 937 billion. More than 19 million international overnight visitors arrived in Dubai in 2025 alone — a record. These are not the numbers of a fragile city. They are the numbers of a city built to absorb shocks and come back stronger.
What This Means for Businesses Like RHAH
We are a small business. We are not a multinational corporation with emergency reserves or a government bailout. We are a yacht rental company built on passion for the sea, love for Dubai, and a belief that people deserve beautiful experiences.
The past weeks tested us — as they tested every hospitality and tourism business in the UAE. Bookings slowed. Enquiries dropped. We watched the news like everyone else.
But we stayed open. We kept our crew. We kept our boats in perfect condition. And we waited — because we know Dubai. We know it bounces back. We know the government has our back. And we know that when the city moves again, it moves with energy.
That moment is now arriving.
With the ceasefire bringing cautious optimism across the sector, and with the government’s support packages giving businesses like ours the ability to keep operating, we are ready. Our fleet — the Gloria, the La Diva, and the Reflection — is fully operational. Dubai Marina is moving. The Arabian Gulf is waiting.
For Travellers Considering Dubai: Come
If you have been hesitating about visiting Dubai because of what you’ve seen in international headlines, we understand. Perception and reality are not always the same thing.
The reality is this: Dubai International Airport is scaling back up, led by Emirates and flydubai. Restaurants are full. The Marina is busy. Residents never stopped living their lives. Experts who have watched the UAE for decades share a consistent view — this city recovers rapidly, and its infrastructure for tourism is as strong as anywhere on earth.
Regional experts note that the UAE’s long-term positioning remains fully intact. The pipeline of major attractions — including Wynn Al Marjan Island opening in 2026 — shows that development and investment here have not paused. They have simply adjusted their rhythm temporarily.
Booking a yacht experience with RHAH is one of the most distinctly Dubai things you can do. There is no better way to see this city — the Burj Al Arab from the water, the Palm Jumeirah stretching out ahead of you, the skyline at golden hour — than from the deck of a private yacht. It is a perspective that reminds you why this place is extraordinary.
For Residents: This Is Your City. Enjoy It.
To the residents of Dubai — the OFWs, the expats, the Emiratis, the long-timers and the newcomers — this moment belongs to you.
You stayed. You kept the city moving. You supported your local restaurants, your gyms, your favourite businesses. You deserved to be celebrated, not just reassured.
Book the yacht. Gather your friends. Watch the sunset over the Gulf. Let the city remind you why you chose to build your life here.
RHAH is here. Dubai is here. And the water — as always — is calling.
